Voice AI agent
Talk to the same AI agent your customers already use
Turn a managed IMFA agent into a real-time voice assistant that listens, responds aloud, uses approved RAG knowledge, and can run configured tools. Live voice is currently a beta feature for eligible Pro accounts with available credits.
- Live browser voice
- RAG knowledge parity
- Voice and model choice
- Explicit call controls
What is a voice AI agent?
A voice AI agent is a conversational assistant that receives speech, reasons with the same instructions and knowledge used in text chat, and answers aloud in real time. In IMFA, editors can start a browser voice session from the agent workspace, choose a supported voice, mute the microphone, and end the call explicitly.
The voice surface uses the agent's system prompt, RAG knowledge, persona, selected model, and compatible tools. It is not a separate voice bot that must be configured again. Voice is in beta, requires an eligible Pro account and credits, and depends on microphone permission, browser audio support, network quality, and service availability.
A managed agent system behind every voice conversation
IMFA connects voice to the same managed agent lifecycle as text and messaging, so your team can improve one source of behavior rather than maintain a disconnected speech application.
Real-time browser conversations
The same RAG knowledge as text chat
Voice character and model choice
Tools, persona, and business behavior
Microphone and session controls
Credit and eligibility safeguards
How to create and test a voice AI agent
Build the core agent first, confirm voice eligibility, then test real spoken questions under realistic browser and network conditions.
- 01
Configure the managed agent
Define the role, audience, tone, boundaries, knowledge sources, model, skills, and tools. Test the text behavior first so the voice session starts from an approved foundation.
- 02
Choose a voice and start a call
Open the Voice surface, select a supported voice character, allow microphone access, and start the session. Eligible Pro accounts need enough available credits.
- 03
Test latency, answers, and failure states
Try short and complex questions, interruptions, mute controls, RAG lookups, tools, and call ending. Perceived latency varies with network, browser, model, knowledge retrieval, and tool execution, so no fixed response time is promised.
IMFA compared with building a voice AI agent manually
Both approaches can work. The difference is whether your team wants to engineer and operate every real-time layer or add voice to an already managed customer agent.
Speech and model APIs are only foundation pieces
A separate voice bot creates configuration drift
IMFA manages the shared agent lifecycle
One agent for voice, chat, messaging, and API
Voice is one interaction surface for the managed agent. Customers and developers can reach the same approved behavior through the channels that fit their situation.
Live browser voice
Public calling availability

Frequently asked questions about voice AI agents
Clear answers about real-time voice, shared knowledge, eligibility, credits, public calling, latency, and browser requirements.
[01]Can I talk to my IMFA agent in real time?
Yes, if the account is eligible for the beta, uses the Pro plan, and has available credits. Start the call from the Voice surface and allow browser microphone access.
[02]Does voice use the same knowledge as the chatbot?
Yes. Voice uses the same agent instructions, RAG knowledge, persona, selected model, and compatible tools as the managed text experience.
[03]Does every agent receive a public phone number?
No universal phone number is promised. Public calling is a beta capability with account and service eligibility. The workspace shows whether calling and its controls are currently available.
[04]How fast does the voice AI agent respond?
IMFA provides a real-time interaction, but there is no fixed latency guarantee. Response speed varies with the user's connection, browser, selected model, RAG lookup, tools, and service conditions.
[05]How are voice credits protected?
The product checks plan eligibility and available credits before starting. Sessions end if credits run out or required usage recording cannot be completed.
[06]What happens if the microphone or connection fails?
The interface reports permission, missing-device, playback, service, secure-session, connection, and reconnection errors. The user can correct the issue and try again rather than continuing an uncertain session.
